Ian, ive had many a sasha mix that ive been convinced were not sasha mixes only to be told by somebody that it is defo a sasha mix cos they were there that night.

i cant say ive had any doubts with this mix, but there again its been a while since i listened to it all the way thru

this is the renaissance mix that is also known as - nights of the turntable

dont know why that is, maybe thats what the promotion night was called?

can anybody add anything

If irc, this was one of Al's tapes that he traded with someone and they ripped and labled as summat like Sasha - Renaissance Three 1992. Prehaps Al can confirm...

Doesn't look like your typical Sasha late '92 set.....

yeh the tunes arnt upfront for the time, its pretty obvious listening to it the guy cant mix. he drops into track after track without blending just wackin it in.
but like i said he isnt mixing in key, take a listen to aug 90 then this and youll see the difference in sasha mixing and some monkey

Well it's definitely sasha as the box and tape had his name on it. Iv had sasha mixes in the past where the mixings being shite and tunes he's played.

He is a good DJ but Vertigo and Ossia were better than him around this time in my opinion.

I was going to Renaissance @ venue 44 in Mansfield in '92 & used to see sasha in very very mash up states. Too blathered to mix or see what tunes he was picking out i bet!

Have got/heard quite a few un-listenable mixes of his from around this time. Mixing so bad it embarassing

ive been in touch with old mates this tape is nigel dawson who used to dj back at rennaiisance downstairs time to time and warmed up odd times for sasha n digweed, and he still djs for rennaissance now, was a m8 of m8 when i lived back in chesterfield, the lad i got tape off said he labelled it up as sasha 3 but defo says was one of dawsons who was well known for bein a cainer lol and earned the nickname dodgy dawson round chesterfield.

hope that settles it

the one thats caused me the most confusion is this mix --

DJ Vertigo - La Morita Sept 93
ive got it with 2 different original tape covers making it look as if its a sasha mix and then been told its a vertigo grin mix

and these sasha(not) vertigo mixes --
DJ Vertigo - Up Up Away & Gone, Jan94 (Grin)
DJ Vertigo Home March 1994
DJ Vertigo 9 - Better Days July92
DJ Vertigo 10 - Goldrush Aug 92
DJ Vertigo 11 - Hippy Pigs Sept 92
DJ Vertigo 12 - Lost, October 1992
DJ Vertigo & Rob Tissera @ The Ark, Leeds, 4th Dec 93

and these mixes --

Kick N Hard Inverness Scotland Nov 91
John Digweed @ Hacienda 1993
Space, Ibiza 91
Dave Seaman + MC Bibbi @ Shelleys, Stoke March 1992 Children In Need night

recieved all of these as sasha mixes, sure theres been more but cant think at the mo

I know what your saying but why would the original tape that the shops were selling at the time say "sasha" on the tape and on the box cover????
