Just thought I'd get things underway in true anorack/techy fashion by asking this question:

My Current set up is:

Roland MC-303 (groove box)
Korg EA-1 (Virtual Analog/Groovebox)
Boss SP-505 (Sampler)
Yamaha SU-10 (Phrase Sampler)
Mackie CFX12 Mixer
FAT Freebass 383 (303 Analog Clone)
MAM MB33 II (303 analog Clone)
Yamaha DJX IIB (Groovebox/Sound module)
Oxygen 8 Keyboard (Controller)
Yamaha DD-55 Drums (Drum pad/machine)
Yamaha QY70 (Sequencer/Sound module aka 'The Grand' lol)
Zoom 1201 Effects

I think that's it... Ed

1210's, Vestax CDX-05 (don't buy one it's never worked properly:rolleyes: ), mixer, amp and speakers.

Got a leccy guitar too (which i'm shit on), a Korg M1 (which i'm even sh*ter on), an S20 sampler, a Casio SK-5, some other Casio keyboard, a tinwhistle, a didgeridoo, a harmonica and I might still have my Major Morgan somewhere:)

I mostly work with VSTi's

It's absolutely incredible how far they've advanced since I first started playing about with them at college in 1999. What was just a load of shitty bleeps is now, in my opinion, as good as he real thing.

I also have a Korg Triton and an Akai S3000XL sampler, but the Akai is pretty much defunct these days. The NN-XT sampler in Reason is just as good.

i am a complete novice at music sequencing, production, remix etc, and have a basic setup.

i only use sofware besides the odd sample rip from vinyl using my 1210.

i use fruity loops (3 and fl studio 5)
sound forge 8 (sony)
cubase
Hammerhead drum machine (great freeware to make samples, emulating the 808)
i then use vsti and dxi plugins for effects, synthesizers, and instrument emulation.
used soundblaster platinum.

I mostly use outboard gear for making music.

I edit stuff with Soundforge 6.0, dabble with Acid Pro 6.0, and a few other bits software wise. Used to use Cubase VST 3.7 as I found that to be the most stable version, but have recently bought a Yamaha QY700 Sequencer which I intend to work with instead of using a PC at all to sequence with.
Will just be using the PC to mix down to/do final edits.

Think this is all the gear I currently have/use:

Mackie 24/8 desk
Unbranded monitors (near field) and Memorex 3 way speakers (rear) for bass/power testing
Yamaha QY700 Sequencer
Korg Prophecy
Korg N5 ex
Korg ER-1
Korg Kaos Pad
Novation Drum Station
Novation A-Station
Novation KS5
E-Mu Proteux F/X
E-Mu Proteus 2000
E-Mu Vintage Keys
E-Mu Morpheus
E-Mu E 5000 Ultra Sampler
E-Mu Drumulator
Alesis Midiverb 4
DbX Compressor Gate 266 Project
Roland SPD-11
Roland Alpha Juno 2
Roland JX-3P with programmer
Roland TB-303
Roland JD800
Kenton Pro 2
Tascam DA-20 DAT
Various F/X Pedals, Roland, Boss etc
Technics SL1210 Mk5G's (x 2)
Pioneer DJM600
Pioneer CDJ1000 Mk3
Denon DNS1000
Shure SM58 Mic
