how can you, its beautiful italian house at its best, I even rocked Ibiza on a re-release in 95, quality tune......

now one I can't stand......K KLASS "RHYTHM IS A MYSTERY"

the only decent bit is the strings on the last 20 seconds of the track.

These have me running for the power off button in a nano second.

Sesame Street - Smart E's
Ratpack - Searchin for me Rizzla
Trip to trumpton -Urban Hype
Rhubarb and Custard - thingy
+ many more cartoon rave songs from that brief period of 1992 lunacy and bad drugs.
It really did hurt back then lol

Elevation is prolly overplayed but I like it...:$

If ur talking really detest, biggest one for me has to be SL2 - On A Ragga Tip :naughty:

N-Trance - Set You Free...:|

and Urban Cookie Collective - The Key The Secret. Totally ruined Glam 'Hell's Party', which at the time I thought was a wicked tune....

All accompanied by prolly the top three worst videos in the world ever too...

:weakest:

Mart

crystal waters - gypsy woman

all the the kiddy rave tunes except Charly (& then the original mix at that - hated the alley cat mix)

all 2 unlimited (although I'll admit to get ready for this prior to the pwl signing..lolol )

skin up - ivory (again though - have v vivid memories being played in the eclipse)

rofos theme - hitman & her @ its worst

any tune that I loved & then subsequently charted & got played by kev & shav in their xr2i :|

cola boy - 7 ways to love

any choon that gets played to death on the oldskool circuit... not that I hate the tune but its just played out... leave it alone for a few months I say ! :naughty:

Good thread this...

Of the tunes mentioned i still love 'Rhythm is a Mystery' (listened to it on way to work this morn ...all time classic for me) & 'Keep Warm' & i still don't mind hearing 'Gypsy Woman' ...tho everybody else seems to be embarased about ever liking it these days!

Tunes that everybody else seems to love but i hate are 4 For Money 'A Moment In Time' ...Anonying piano riff, & Rhythm Foundation 'Let the Whole World Know' ...6 rounds of cheese on toast + all the edam in holland! :hurl:

I quite like Rhythm Is a Mystery, Cola Boys, The Shamen.. Unfortunately all overplayed and charted..4 For Money and Pakito Lindo were proper biggies years ago.., but like anything if you hear them too many times... :)

and Ive recently changed my mind on Rhythm Foundation, its grown on me a bit, hated it at the time..

I could also never listen to all those Mentasm rip offs back then, but for some reason now I find them OK, compared to some of the stuff that came afterwards.. :| ;)

IMO..

Absolute Rubbish.., you can take your pick from all those shitty UK "Rave" productions from 92 onwards.., theres loads..

Said it before, Gypsy Woman, hate it, reminds me of Graeme Park boring the pants of everyone at the Hacienda....

Devotion by Nomad, nope, used to get on my tits then and gets on my tits now..and Ive got it lol :D

Everything by Love Decade (apart from the W/L of When the Morning Comes..)

Happy Hardcore - WTF WHY? :|

Yes all these..

Sesame Street - Smart E's
Ratpack - Searchin for me Rizzla
Trip to trumpton -Urban Hype
Rhubarb and Custard - thingy
Rofos Theme
2 Unlimited - Get Ready For This was huge until it charted..lol ;)

I should hate a lot of tacky Italian Piano, but I cant, I love the stuff lol :$

KLF - what time is love <- this really started the lame commercialism that entered into rave (wankers!)
ALL shamen pretentious wank (espesh if MR C is flapping all over it - he sounds like a smurf on prozac).
Everything Starts With An E - or wtf it's called, WHY!?? - sounds like The carpenters & Legs & co. of totp joined up to make a wank tune (which they succeeded in doing).

and finally any mix that states the obvious by repeating a female looped phrase over and over, espesh if it's saying the obvious, like the fpi project remix that goes 'dancing feet, dancing feet, dancing feet ...', like YEAH PEOPLE ARE DANCING AND THEY GOT DANCING FEET! blehg, obvious poor sampling.

/me stops ranting ;)

I hadn't heard them much (back in the day) but these seem to feature well on this board, and to be honest, they do nowt for me.

Q Words - That's The Choice
Alpha DY - Chicago Trip
That bloody awful Quasimodo shite as well...

Back to the thread, and N-Trance - Set You Free, I thought was a good track tbh, that was until they re-did it, when you put out a track to say only 500-1000 copies, and then either lose the master DAT, or have it re-done in a studio for a proper release on a label, it always sounds shite, and that's what happened with this for me.

I had the orig white label, and loved that, then sold it in 1996, but still thing that orig is ok.

As for the others, well the only ones that do my head in are the rave/hardcore ones, cartoon sampling bollocks and the likes.

Really not digging that whole breakbeat era 92-94 anymore, that's got to be the most dated sounding genre out of all of them, as I can still listen to all the Italo anthems, the acid and techno, but those speeded up breaks just grate.

Errr bit of a rant there lol

As you were..

that ridiculous 'planet soul' track that came out on US strictly rhythm with that whiney ass bitch singing,

"come into my planet soul....set u free, set u free"

you couldn't go 5 fucking minutes without hearing that 'mile long lump of lard.' ;) (Orb reference there....)
