Although my realtionship witht he propierty of "Choci's Chewns" has deteriorated over the last few years it is still wit ha little sadness that I dicovered of it's recent closure.

Many of year would ahve visited "choci's" in it's early days and in varous establishments in London's west end (underneth "oby") being perhaps the most notorius.

A visit to his shop was like a party. Choci's enthusasim for his ware and his then increasing reputation as a DJ and record producer ensured the shop was packed and thriving.

In more recent years Choci's personal reputation diminsihed, the stock became more specialised and the antagonist attiude he diplayed towards hiss staff discouraged shoppers.

For those of you who ever enjoyed a trip to Choci's Chewns, purchased any of his better compositons (most of you will own "hoovers and spraycans" i'm sure) it is a sad end to teh tale.

For me to witness my once best friend (I even "acted" as manager/cheerleader for him for an extended period. Even my moniker can partly be attributed to him) losing the plot , busienss and reputation it is even more so.

I would like to wish him all the best in his future career as a carpenter and thanks for the memories .

I DJ'd with him in Norwich many years ago, seemed a bit of a nutter from what I remember (not a lot), so he's hung up the cans has he?

I remember having Choci DJ down our club early 1991 - and then I saw him at Legends in the west end later in the year - that was a mental night - also friends of mine went and saw him at The Zap in Brighton when he was resident there - used to set his decks up in the middle of the dancefloor

He used to have the same cult appeal in the south that Sasha had in the north (in his early years)

I used to know him and roy the roach quite well. They sold records in a friends shop on carnaby street. I own a signed copy of hoovers and spraycans. Do you mean the shop in the alleyway in soho has closed. I looked for it the other day and couldn't see it
