thanks for sharing these Matt ;) never seen this pack before

track 7 on Healy tape is on Carl Cox essential mix 9-10-94 & is down as Cotton Club - Untitled

has the vocal "get down to the funky song"

sure I tried to find it a while back but never found it, unless its been added to youtube since

https://www.discogs.com/artist/229902-Cotton-Club

I'm on the hunt for this, i have it somewhere. Could well be Cotton Club or a remix of their's. I have Whizz records in my head for some reason!

on the Carl Cox essential mix he plays 'Keep Rockin' from the same ep & then 'Getdown' straight after

It's a wicked EP tbh, Got To Get It On is a tune!!!

re: thanks for that mr radish

Interesting bit of info that.

I do sort of wonder what happens to a lot of the 90s DJ's, I know a lot of them still do the retro nights, and are still djing at other clubs playing non retro sets, some retire, and some go into the restaurant business like Danny Rampling but then come back into the scene again. Perhaps there is a link between chef-ing and dj-ing, both require creativity and thinking on your feet I suppose. I will keep an eye out for any recent mixes by them!

Cheers,
notlob

Adrian, was doing a few retro nights on his own, but tends to do eclectic nights at small venues around Manchester. Does a few radio shows, one called The Eclectic Circus. Mark, runs a very successful high end wedding DJ company. They have recently dj'ed together for the first time for years and may have more planned.

re: thanks again

Hullo again,

I seem to remember that they used to DJ a lot in Manchester, but forgot the name of the club, never actually did get to see them DJ as a duo in a club setting, but deffo remember listening to some of their mixtapes back in the 90s. Good that they have re-united and are DJing again, thanks for the info!

Number 1 club and Paradise Factory were two notable venues they played! No problem.
