Having passed into Leeds legend, the clubbing institution Soak renews its relationship with the city in February, hosting a very special intimate party at the Mint Club in its first event in some twenty years.
The original Soak events defined clubbing across the North with the use of Leeds' large scale Corn Exchange and became regarded as the more refined, US house leaning counterpart to its techno orientated sister club, Kaos.
Now with a mix of the original residents alongside guests, Soak begins its new era with New York DJ and producer, Angel Moraes at the head of the line up. A true master of quality house music and grooves, Angel's early productions such as "Release Yourself", "Heaven Knows", and the mind blowing dub of “Welcome To The Factory” broke new ground and created a deeply industrial house music sound that remains influential today
Also returning to soak is the ever innovative Justin Robertson who keeps the open minded balearic attitude of his early clubs, Most Excellent, Spice and Sleuth with his individualistic remixing, production and DJ'ing style. Having established his reputation early at seminal record shoe Eastern Bloc, his remixes including S.L.D’s ‘Getting’ Out, Finitribe’s ‘Forever Green’ and productions as Lion Rock and nowadays the Deadstock 33's set him out as one of UK's finest DJ's and producers.
Cream's long-standing and hugely talented resident, Paul Bleasdale also comes across to for the night whilst old pals Tony Walker from Love To Be and the club's original and ever present resident Marshall complete the line up.
For those that can't quite remember the first time around, Soak was massively successful with a devoted regular crowd and guests like Frankie Knuckles, Sasha, Kevin Saunderson, Graeme Park and Mike Pickering who performed one of M-Peoples first ever live gigs there.
We look forward to seeing you.
