Going to have to reveal my musical ignorance here, but I would really appreciate some help in finding 'new' (for my 18 year old self at least) progressive tracks. I'd love specifically to hear stuff in the same style as Leftfield's 'Melt' and 'Final Hit' and stuff like Underworld's 'Dark and Long (Dark Train)', as its bloody hard to find this stuff. Even just a list of Classic Progressive songs would see my on my way and be a massive help. Any help for a young would be Progressive lover?

Awesome, thanks so much Brock and Pauly, finally on my way to becoming a proper progressive fan. Just one more hopefully quick question, does anyone know any songs with a similar synth to 'Dark Train' by Underworld, thats captivated me for years and its all cause of that bloody synth, yet I don't think I know one single song like it.

lol, that pretty much covers this thread, nice 1 john

i would change the order of that list but there's some great stuff on there. can't believe they missed these tho, all of em would be in my top 10:

http://www.discogs.com/Anna-Din-Angel/release/127421

HOPE - TREE FROG (DUB TRANCE MIX) - YouTube

i also like mixing some slightly more breakbeaty stuff in occasionally, like these:

regarding ur specific request, given the tunes u mentioned u might want to check these out, both on the list that brock posted but they might be more up ur street than some of the others:

http://www.discogs.com/Lemon-Interupt-Dirty/master/277869
http://www.discogs.com/Drum-Club-Sound-System-Part-1/release/53623

it also might be worth checking out some of andy weatherall's earlier stuff ;)

hope that helps, happy hunting sculli :D

Mmm you've exposed one of my obsessions lol

9, 32, 33, 34, 44, 58, 76 &100 missing and not heard of.. Now off on YouTube (and then discogs to buy lol)

Ready For Dead, a beast of a tune. Glad to see its in there (ambient mix, of course!)

It's an excellent list, no doubt, but there are some other tunes i would definitely have made room for:

Power Circle - Garden Of Peace (The Shakra Mix) - YouTube (how could you miss this!!!)
B.T - Embracing The Sunshine (Sasha Remix) [HQ] 1995 LR3.wmv - YouTube
Future Vision - 30 Feet Below Your Head (Old School House Mix) (1993) - YouTube
Doi-oing - Bosh (Unaminous Bosh) - YouTube
God Within - Raincry (Submerged) - YouTube
Decadance - Velvet Voyage - YouTube
Slam - Intensities in Ten Cities.wmv - YouTube
Seventh Sense - Get The Music (Himalayan Dub) - YouTube
sono lakota - ice and acid (the aloof remix) 1993.wmv - YouTube

Of course, these are just obvious ones (IMHO). There's so many more you could include. A top 100 isn't really enough to list them all...

Looking through my old prog tunes, i'd never realised just how many quality tunes are out there. Does anyone fancy helping out with an 'Early Progressive Essentials' list (or something like that) on discogs? I'm thinking 1991(?) to 1993. I could probably make a list per year after that, but early stuff is what i'm really interested in. Plus i'm starting to run out of tracks to hunt down from the early years!

Dave Seaman and Steve Parry are teaming up this year and launching a new label together...Selador I believe is the name...if Audio Therapy is anything to go by...it'll be good.
