Having rocked dancefloors all over the world and a string of top flight mix tapes, it seems only right to get DJ Format back to Brum for a DJ set.

His debut album 'Music For The Mature B-Boy' was an album of soulful, funk-fuelled hip hop packed with infectious beats and lyrical dexterity from the cream of the Hip-hop world. It quickly became a word of mouth triumph, going on to establish itself as one of the most successful debut artist albums from the UK urban scene .

2005's follow up album 'If You Can't Join 'Em… Beat 'Em' saw Format step up a gear, tightening the loops still further for a tougher, leaner sound. A heavy schedule of acclaimed shows followed the release throughout 2005/06.

Format has turned his attentions to mixes, including one of 2006's successes, Fabric Live 27, and the Fania mix, applying his signature b-boy style to the world's foremost catalogue of latin music. Most recently has been the 'Holy Sh!t' mix where he worked with FUNKBOX regular Mr Thing. Alongside this, Format's discreetly released 12" tribute to James Brown 'Stealin' James', has been a huge success both with DJ's and dancefloors alike. Followed up recently with his remixes of Speedometer funk classics. Format is currently hard at work on his third album.

His DJ sets are renowned for their boundary-crossing selection of the funk, soul, rock & hip-hop, we are in for a real treat in the lovely surroundings of the Hare & Hounds.
