Sampler advise please

Ok im a have a go dj who has been mixing for about 15 years now. As with me alot of my equipment is a bit dusty and old fashion now but thats fine with me. I play a variety from 1984 house through to early 90's italian and early 90's hardcore (although rarely now). Anyway ive got my 1210's x3, cdj800's x2 and djm500 but now lookig to get a sampler to use with saved samples as well as live sampling. I like the idea of effects also etc.

Im open to suggestions as I have not got a clue...the only sampler i had was a Kam50 mixer with built in sampler.....circa 1991! Also what the best way to connect into a DJM500. Buying 2nd hand is cool and dont realy want to spend a bomb in case it does not get used.

Thanks

s

For live triggering and sampling on the fly the kaos pad 3 might suit you. It also has effects on board. Theres vids on youtube showing what it can do. Ed

Here's an example review. Might be better ones if you have a look. Ed

Thanks for the reply, my brother had a Kaos pad (may still have it?) is fun to use however what about sp202 or sp505? especially the 505 which has some drum patterns included?

Thanks

I've got the sp-505, and although i really like it as a sampler in a production setup, I think you'd find it hard to use in a live situation with decks. The new kaoss pad compared to the old one (which i used to have as well) is far more suited to live performance. Hope you get sorted anyway. Ed

Still not decided!

Ok still looking but have sort of decided on SP404 which looks to be a fairly basic sampler with 12 pads and not too expensive 2nd hand.

I have also been looking over a TR606 and TB303 both of which I have been offered although not cheap. Got me thinking though, are the sample cd's people sell of flea-bay any use with a sampler, can they be looped for very simple 808 tracks and 303 backing? What I would be looking to acheive is simple samples with a few drum patterns to suit 84-88 style mixing.

Thanks
