| Trackmarking in Soundforge Walk-thro Trackmarking in Soundforge in 20 easy(ish) steps! for this example i am using soundforge 9, altho this process is the same on older versions .wav file (sample_city-med_mix), i have found if you use this method with .mp3 files you can still get a gap/stutter in the mix 37min 20.208sec mix made up of 8 tracks 1. Open your mix & Goto the start of your mix, by pressing button (00:00:00.000) ![]() 2. Click Special 3. Click Insert Marker (you will get a line and a tag) ![]() 4. Find the parts of your mix where you want the track marks to go, you can zoom in and drag a marker with your mouse to the exact place ![]() 5. Click Special 6. Click Insert Marker 7. Repeat (for a 8 track CD you will have to repeat 7 times) 8. Goto the end of your mix, by pressing button (00:37:20.208) 9. Click Special 10. Click Insert Marker ![]() Now you should have your 37min 20sec mix with 9 Markers (1 @ the start, 7 when the tracks change, & 1 @ the end) ![]() 11. Click on Special 12. Click on Regions List 13. Click on Markers to Regions ![]() You will now get a box saying 'All of the Markers in the sound file will be converted to Regions. Are you sure you want to continue? ![]() 14. Click Yes Now all the Markers are Regions and will be named 1 1/2 2/3 (in older versions they are named region-starttime-endtime) etc...etc... 15. Click on Tools 16. Click on Extract Regions ![]() A Extract Regions box will appear with all 8 Regions named (in older versions they are named region-starttime-endtime) 17. Select a Destination Folder (eg. c:\my_mix) 18. Click Extract ![]() The program will now 'Extract' each Region and save it to the Destination Folder you can check the progress in the bottom left of the screen ![]() 19. Close Soundforge 20. Open the destination folder (eg. c:\my_mix) You should have 8 .wav files saved in it ![]() now burn these 8 files, i use nero, tick the no pause between tracks button ![]()

| another option is to save the markers as regions then (if you have it) open the finished mix with all your regions saved in Sony CD Architect, then go to "Tools" then click on "create tracks from media regions" then burn the disc.........no pauses, no skipping, nothing, just a seamless mix and when you skip tracks on your cd player it takes you straight to the next one Robbie ![]() |

| here's an even simpler version of events, once u put all the marks on it in sound forge, save it as a wav, open nero and ad the wav file, highlight the file after u add it and click properties, at the top of the box, click on the tab which says, index's limits splits, an wait til the file as completly applied itself 2 the box, click on, split at index positions, click apply an then done an hey presto, ur track markings are recognised in nero, no splits, no gaps P.S dont forget 2 click no silence between tracks and the remove silence at the end of cda tracks on the normal nero options

| Many thanks for that tutorial bud I use SF6 and had previously jotted down how to do it a few months ago but then threw the notes away by mistake. Good work -DZ |
