Candyman's Tunez & Remixes

I have been messing with the production of tunes for a number of years now, In fact I was playing with sounds on the Commodore 64 before I was really into any sort of music. I used an Amiga 1200 for many years until I found a program on the PS1 called Music 2000. I used my trusty Amiga and PS1 to build tunes until I got me a PC in 2002.

All the stuff I did on the C64 and Amiga has long since been lost but I do still have my old PS1 and some of what I built on it. I have built quite a bit of stuff on both the PS1 and my PC so as we have a section involving the production of music I thought I would share some of my work so far with anyone that might be interested…

Hardcore Will NEVER Die!!! - Candyman
Lets kick things off with my signature tune built with the PC that has vocals describing just what its all about. This is more of a Hard House track that was built a few years back… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Toytown History - Candyman
Being obsessed by the hardcore tune Toytown - Hixxy & Sharkey I decided to try and build a remix armed only with my PS1 at the time. Every note was programmed by myself and it has a kind of Hard House feel to it. This track took about 2 months to finish many years ago… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Strange Sensation - Candyman (Trance mix)
Again on the PS1 many years ago I had a dabble in creating a trance tune. Some of the parts used to build this were loops found in the Music 2000 program itself… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Strumin’ - Candyman
Still with the old PS1... At the time of building this tune I had a guitar and was learning to play it, even though I hate rock music lol. Reason was, I had a friend that could play anything on a guitar, even hardcore melodies!!! This inspired me to try and create a Hard House/Guitar sort of tune… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

InsanitE - Candyman
This was the last tune I ever built on the PS1 and to me it is my best piece of work so far. More of a Club/Hard House tune that took over 3 months to build and every note was created by myself. The recording of this is not the best quality at the start and in the odd patch here and there, but I will rip a better quality version at some point in the future… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Sugar Shack - Seb (Candyman’s Raver Remix)
Just getting used to my new PC with this nice mellow tune and testing what can be done with my new found friend… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Never Lost His Commodore - Candyman
Not forgetting my old C64 I stumbled on some web site that had many old C64 game tunes to download. So after I saw they had the classic game of Monty On The Run’s game tune to rip I set about making it sound Hardcore… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Samsara - Dave Holmes (Candyman’s Nightmare mix)
The melody in this tune just sticks in ya head like glue and goes round and round, so I Candymanised it Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

This Is The Sound - Candyman
More of a cross between D’n’B and new skool Hardcore, this tune is made-up using all sorts of bits’n pieces. Something a little different from all the others… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Hardcore Sensation - Candyman
A 3min’ mega mix of about 10 hardcore tunes. I built this to play at the end of any Hardcore mix set I performed… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Rave heart - Candyman
This one’s for the stompers. A Scott Brown inspired mix of the tune from the film Brave heart… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Operation Hardcore - Candyman
From the film Blade came the tune Operation Blade, then came the Candyman with inspiration from Scott Brown and you end up with this… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Higher State Of Consciousness - Josh Wink (Candyman’s Higher State of Hardcore Remix)
Yes I even Candymanised this classic and gave it an old skool feel… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

God’s House - Candyman
This tune was a challenge set by my step dad that is very much into church organ music. He gave me a piece of organ music with some very nice power chords and asked if I could remix it. You will not hear another Hardcore tune like this beast… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Music is my First Love - DJ Hixxy (Candyman’s Extended with a Twist mix)
Hixxy’s intro is awesome, but in my book a bit short. Adding some effects, drums and a bit’o this’n that we now have something we could mix into the middle of a set… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Suck My Dick! - Dickheads (Candyman’s Suck My Remix)
This club tune has been given the Hardcore face lift it should have had to begin with in my book… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Exterminated - Candyman
Another Scott Brown inspired remix of an old Orbital tune that uses the melody from the tv show Dr. Who. This ones got some power… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

PPK Vs’ Prodigy on speed - Candyman
Using some samples from a live performance of Poison from the Prodigy and chopping up PPK’s Resurrection I remixed this tune with the intent on creating something with an Old Skool feel to it… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

Trip On This - Candyman
A bit more of an old House/Hardcore feel to this one and not as mental as some of the others. Do you know where the vocals come from…? Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

A Harder Shade Of Pale - Candyman
In my book this is the best remix of any tune I have ever done so far. This has a real Old Skool Happy Hardcore feel to it with some real power in places… Free File Hosting Made Simple - MediaFire

I hope you enjoy the tunes and of course it would be nice if you took a minute to leave a comment.

I've listened to 3 up to now: Hardcore will never die, Toytown and Trip on this. My favourite music wise was Hardcore will never die,,,the melody reminded me of the stuff Baby Doc used to do in the early nineties (would be better as an instrumental for me personally though). Toytown seemed a little over-reverbed to me, which made it sound boomy, but then that might be the idea). Really liked the acid line in Trip on this, very well done. I'll have a listen to the others and leave feedback later. I have to agreed with Eden, when he says you've got a talent for producing this kind of stuff. Keep it Up. Ed

I have downloaded a couple of your tunes. Thanks for sharing them.

Can't seem to download "never lost his commodore" - the others i've downloaded the links are ok!

I'll give them a listen and i'll let you know what i think!

Just out of interest how did you transfer your tunes from the PS1 to your PC?

I used a similar program on the PS2 and made a few tunes. I wouldn't mind them on my PC.
