Cracking sound in the breakdown at 01.12 to 01.25 Varied sounds throughout, I think it'd benefit from a bit of EQ tweaking to give it a warmer feel, and of course extend it by another 3 mins I was glad you didn't do the usual snare roll (ala hardfloor style) to re-introduce new elements of the track like many other trance records have in them. The strings that come in at 02.36 reminded me a bit of the filter sweep strings on Salsa House - very nice indeed. Would love to hear the finished version ![]() (an acid line in this would sound mint imo)

Thanks for listening Blue your right about the warmth it is because of the kick drum is so pokey if you know what i mean it has no shape and warmth but i am gona change that, hehe snare roll when i right a tune that is one thing i stay away from is the snare roll it is a very commercial thing,i got a Alpha Juno 2 like you but i'd love a TB303 never even had ago on one yet ![]() Last edited by montydj : 3rd March 2007 at 12:34 PM. |

Good stuff mate, so you use all outboard gear too then? I think I meant the warmth on the claps and the general feel like, maybe a little more high end and less mid, but try out different EQ's or effects. I used to do bare bones mixes to get the patterns right first then do all the tweaking later to get it all gelling together ![]() 303's are great soundwise but they are a pain in the arse to program, hopefully this thread will inspire me to start writing again ![]()

I sold all my Hardware but bought a Alpha 2 and can control on my Mac which i love it i made all them classic rave sounds so i have them when ever i need them hehe,i just use Mac with Logic Pro 7 going through a Soundcraft Ghost 32 channel,i feel it makes it easier for me that i can just load up another tune if i have no ideas on a tune i am working on which helps me to keep moving forward but i do love hardware tho but i feel the times we live in for me personally it would'nt make much difference if i used hardware to software.

Nice one mate thanks for listening,i think what i'll do then is change the kick which will make the tune sound warmer and continue where i am up to,the most boring part is finding a kick drum i have loads but it bores the crap out of me lol
