| usb/audio interface im thinking of getting a cheap usb/audio interface to start put mixes on my comp but do you have to have a usb port on your mixer or can you use a standard mixer and connect it using the output phono? |

| Without really looking, I would gather that you attach your mixer to the USB sound device with ordinary phono cables, like on "line in" or whatever on the USB device, with the USB just being to your PC and back. I doubt you would require USB on your Dj Mixer cos its not really a well supported socket in the world DJ marketplace (yet), so I doubt the company (thats after selling loads of units) would only use a USB port that 98% of DJ gear around the globe doesnt have as standard. Im soon going to be looking at one of these USB soundcards myself, lol. Sirius |

| I've just bought an external card for my future lappy, seeing as a line in socket is pretty rare for a laptop and the sound quality of a laptop usually isn't very good. If you really need one (because your pc doesn't have a line in socket, or it's using a basic soundchip which isn't very good - as most aren't) then there's a Creative Sound Blaster Live 24Bit External USB 5.1ch / Remote available for about £40. I've just bought a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Video Editor for £67, which has a good quality soundcard built in and will allow me to rip video and camcorder footage to my lappy

| i would recommend a behringer uca202. they are only 20 quid and provide standard phono ins and outs. they also use asio drivers and go down to about 15ms latency. i use one whenever i take my laptop down the studio. cheap and works well |
