Depends how much you looking to spend?

Quality wise and build/features I'd say DJM800 - perfect mixer and I now use this as my master mixer having just sold a Mackie 32:8 (32 chan mixing desk)

The sound quality from the older DJM600 was ropey at times but the DJM800's are superb.

Pricey, but you wouldn't need to replace it for years to come imo.

Not that you are usually price restricted or owt but i've got one of these..

Chemical Ltd | Buy American DJ - American DJ MX-1400 - MX1400 :: 4 Channel Mixer - Mixer at Chemical Ltd

which I think is fucking ace, especially for the price Build quality is almost comparable to a pioneer, everything does exactly what its supposed to do all the time and the sound is perfect, crisp and clear. The lights on it look cool as fuck too and its ridiculously versatile for plugging mp3 players etc all the features you might find on a much more expensive one and nowt that you dont really need. You're welcome to have a look next time you're passing

Cheers all for input

To me it's about space saving as well as quality of the mixer - I love my current mixer (Numark FX5000) but I can't see myself ever mixing without using Scratch Pro now as it supports a range of FX even when playing normal vinyl rather than timecoded plus it's a big old beast & takes up a lot of room on my decks space.

I'm thinking 3 channels is enough as I have 2 physical decks & I can have a third (or even fourth) 'virtual' deck in Traktor. I think 3 is enough though (can use it just for simple stuff like pellas / soundscape noises etc).

I always used the Line / Phone toggle to transform & you can't do that with timecoded vinyl as it 'plays' a continuous tone when you toggle to Phono... so I'm looking for transform / punch buttons... or a really adjustable upfader.

I'm loving this... you have curve control on x fade AND up faders Deffo gonna get it

I gave up on that idea and just trained my fingers to manipulate the crossfader at a better, tighter rate - you find with other mixers then it's no problem with fast cutting or chopping of bits instead of having to try and adapt, it's already there

I'd say try before you buy as per with mixers or be prepared to sell it on later if it doesn't suit ya...
