Am I a Vinyl obsessed geek???????

I've finally acquired a copy of Dj De lite "Just Groovin" in the piccy sleeve (the one with the Doccers on the front)

don't get me wrong, i've owned the tune for 16 odd years in a purple / maroon ISP company sleeve but i'm obsessed with owning every pressing / picture sleeve of every tune I love (which there's a bloody lot of).

I was also totally obsessed with getting the black and white picture sleeve copy of 4for money "moment in time" and don't ask me how muxch I paid for that pleasure lol

now on to white labels, I got a original white of bassheads "out there" with the original pink flloyd samples but my pressing didn't have the "bassheads" stamp.. was totally blank, I then had to get one with the stamp?
I could give you countless examples on this subject

am I obsessive? am I adicted to Vinyl? am I scaring you ?? I'll stop

Yes. Yes. No. (In that order)

Why would you stop? I think it's ace. If you love it, live it! As long as the kids aren't starving and the bailiffs aren't kicking your front door in, why not!

Im a bit similar on a few things, I own all the releases of Space Face for example

Do keep telling meself I should sell the duplicates or ones with mixes I aint gonna play but rarely do

Iv had that Delite piccy sleeve for ages... didnt know it was hard to come by.

Though Im not particulary that anal about the sleeves unlike a good few of u lot

Not too fussed about sleeves (anyone that has been to my gaff can testify that they don't spend too much time in them )

I do have multiple issues of tunes though... & I can't get shot of em because they all have different B sides or mixes...

This is a case in point

Rhythm On The Loose - Break Of Dawn / Optimism (Fall Down)

Rhythm On The Loose - Rhythmology

Im such a Freak when it comes to NOT ON LABEL Stamped Whites from 90-94.

They all need to be stamped,

Question: If there not Stamped and you want them Stamped how do you go about gettin the Stamped Thingy so you can Stamp then like this eg. DJ Strings - Vibe EP

i used to be the same , when i had my shop in 92 ,had to have everything by certain artists on every label , the promo the finished copy the import ect , also doubled up on loads of things , kept dozens of sealed copies of things for many years ,

1 example

Beloved* - The Sun Rising

Beloved, The - The Sun Rising

Beloved, The - The Sun Rising

and as a few of my mates will vouch , i was completely obsessed with having PIC sleeves or the Original Company sleeves ect,

but thats what real vinyl addiction does to you

Lol Yep I had to have the Alien/grasshopper (whatever the fukc he is) American Records picture sleeve for "Techno Age"

& I also had to have the "OH Zone" for Chime even though it never had a company sleeve for Oh-zone 1 lol

When I go vinyl bargain bin searching I also nick (borrow or swap) covers lol so I can take them home just in case I may need them. I have about 100 empty sleeves in case of emergencies lol

Wow, this is an insight to another world.

Collect away, I think it's great. I must be honest though and say I just want a copy of the tune I'm after in good condition, be it a booty, promo, white or full commercial release or repress.

I used to do that. I still have loads of spare company sleeves just sat there doing nothing just in case I find a tune that fits. for example I used to swap a tune from a tatty blank sleeve into an Italian Style sleeve, then fit that into an Atlantic sleeve just to bring more sleeves home.
That was after I had peeled the £4.99 sticker off and swapped it for a 50p one, or slipped an expensive tune into a shitty album sleeve for 20p.

I'm sure I have a spare Oh-zone one if you need it
