Fuck me.... for the second time (1st time my levels were all to cock) I recorded a 4 hour bloomin mix... & once again I've had some major Locherbie crashes... I've left myself very slight room to get the next tune in which is fine when practising one record into another but quite different when in the set itself...

I've been listening back to it today & some of it is a right struggle where you can hear me sweating to get the fucker in & pulling / pushing... almost like beatmatching on the fly... some of it's not pretty but you can tell I'm fucking grafting... it's almost endearing in a perverse kind of way...

There's no way I'm looking at it for a long while as I'm sick to fucking death of the set to be honest lol I'll re-do it one day when my expertise matches my vision lol

Sometimes i think why the hell am i in this game!

Trying to do a Jungle Mix and my soundcard has been playin up, but i never know if its messed up until ive finished and listen back to it, 30mins into it and a horrible buzzin noise comes in a ruins the whole mix,

5times its happened and im fed up with the Mix, But i wanna do it as i want mixes to listen to when im travelling next yr!

Its a fucker, so i deff no where your coming from!

Shooms, why not split it into 4 parts?

Do 4 x 1 hour mixes instead of 1 x 4 hour mix...

Be a lot easier to plan out if you wanted to and have a few piss breaks in between

what gets me lol is you mix for half an hour and everything is gonig spot on so you think "I'll start taping this" then everything gos pair shaped

I think it has something to do with the change in the electricity current slightly affecting/altering the pitch meaning records just don't seem to beat match correctly

Someone told me this years ago and I believe it lol as it always seems to happen to me?

I think my mates used to lose the will to live watching me plan a mixtape.

I used to be quite chilled and loose with my mixing, a bit experimental and trying stuff out on the fly, then i think it was going to the hac and listening to parky's immaculate set's that triggered some kind of ocd that had till then been lying latent.

I mean, when they came together, my mixes were mint! Absolutely blinding, but it was never gonna work live, every single blend was predefined to the bar... every break, every roll, every key change... all considered..

I remember spending full days trying to record an AD90...
Getting 4 mixes in... 3 mixes in... 6 mixes in... 2 mixes in.... start again!!
God, I remember getting the intro wrong and starting again. Christ, I hadnt even done a mix yet and was already rewinding the tape.

My mates could have killed me, I could have killed myself... I wasn't really having a lot of fun to be honest...

Cut to today, it's all about the segue. Who care's if its in time... as long as they're dancing and Im smiling!
