After hangin up my ravin shoes in 93, i was tempted out of retirement a couple of years back for a hacienda reunion, was proper excited, the people i went with wasnt ravers, but i had been hypin the scene, tunes and djs up for years, so they was also lookin forward to samplin what it was like back in the day.

GP was the headliner that night, couldnt believe the commercial shite he was playing, after about 45 mins or so i couldnt take anymore , so off i went for a word lol.

I explained that i had come to an oldskool night, and needed some proper hac tunes, delite-wildtimes, annete dream 17, bas noir, strings, voodoo ray etc.

Gotta say graemes response was ok, but it shouldnt take a really pissed of old bloke having a gentle word in his ear to sort it out lol

seemed a really nice fella, but tune selection wise was shockin

Ive since had many other top nights out most notably the bttop and in my house nights, where the djs remember what house was like from 87-93 lol

Thought he was overated in style and although he played some top tunes he also played a lot of shite IMO.

Think Jon DaSilva deserves a lot more credit for his tune choice, his technical ability and his influence out of the Hacienda DJ`s back in the day TBH.
