| I like Radio 2. Much better than the obvious Kylie, Madonna and R&B bling about how rich some dick is on Radio 1 (or Jo Whiley claiming to have discovered a new band everyone else stopped listening to last year). Radio 2 have Jonathan Ross, Mark Lamar, Mark and Lard, Chris Evans, Tezza Wogan (even though I cant understand a word he says), Jeremy Vine being topical at lunch (Clive Anderson standing in recently). The problem is with all this diversity, instead of an eclectic playlist you are guaranteed to hear Vine play Bowie, Wright play the Pointer Sisters, Chris Evans play Ocean Colour scene, Ross play the Jam. - every bloody day its the same four songs!

I can't argue with the top 3, and I can see why some people might not go for Billy Jean, I can't think of a bigger dance record. You play that anywhere, people will go for it. From 3 year olds to Grannies. Strings of Life should definitely be there, I think its an amazing amazing record. I like the Charades, but I don't think its the best Northern Soul record to be honest, yet alone a top 10 of all time. Alison Limerick (who I always thought was American, turns out she's English) got voted No 1 in Mixmag or DJ about 10 years ago, and its a fantastic cross over record, massive n the house clubs, but a sing along as well, and as Pickering said on the programme, there was a day when that was dropped for the first time, and the place went bezerk.
