I hate Booties along with Easty and I've always had a strong opinion on them. (check my previous posts lol)

I've got the same opinion of DVD/cd pirates.. (DJ mixes are ok becasue the "mixtape" has always been a dodgy) At college I did reseach into mixtapes and its a very interesting subject re copyright / artist promotion etc etc

Q words lol, my personal copy and not a dodgy bootleg!!! , was in sealed sleeve when I got it. no intention to sell it although £150 would swing me (i've turned down £100, £125 & £131 in the last 3m...what credit crunch lol)

Rob, load of bolloxs mate. Fair play some dont agree with it, but you've spend the last x number of years buying then selling on both bootlegs and 2nd hand legitimate records for a profit. When did you send some of your profits to the record labels ? theres not much difference really is there. Someone decides to make some tunes available which are hard to find. Thats what you aimed for when selling tunes. Its not as though you'd walk in VE and buy the shit which wouldnt gain you a profit on ebay. Just cos the mark up for you dropped to a level where it wasnt worth your while doesnt mean no-one else should do it.
And to say it was sold as a legitimate record? where you get that from. You think it was some random kid without any clout just bidding on 'a record'? whoever bid on it knew aobut the history / rareness etc of the tunes which would mean they knew what they were buying.

second hand records are second hand? the funds have already been paid to the artist.

only sold 3 booties in last 5 years and they were all "original"(lol) early 90's bootlegs when stuff was bootlegged and sold in the record shops for £8, don't ever recall even selling a "Knights" bootleg. never mind these parra dice / q words ones

I've said before and I'll say again I don't like booties, never have, never will, fair enough if people want to buy them but someone taking large sums off people for a booty is wrong IMHO, if they put them on ebay at £5.99 buy now, its fair enough.. putting them on a auction knowing people are desperate for it on vinyl is wrong

If I had produced "Spare beat 5" back in the day and saw original presses going for £250 a go I'd be chuffed people found my productions in such high regard. now if someone was selling booties of it and bids where gonig over £100 I'd be seriously pi55ed off with the "scum" lol selling them

Rob we all know ur a buyer and seller of tunes, dont tell us you wouldnt accept a high bid of someone cos you thought it was 'wrong',youd be buzzin and probably bragging about it on here like u usually do when you find tunes for cheap prices.Do you have High society on original? i dont know if you do but calling someone scum cos they have bothered there arses to do something constructive with there time and benefit people on this board who i know are also glad like me that this has been pressed, the £102 brought in from that sale will hopefully be reinvested in to another press to once again help people out who find it hard to track down tunes,i know whos done this i they certainley not in it for dough, i know for a fact, another jealous member cant handle it by the looks of things

think were gonig round in circles lol (well thats what were all obsessed about lol)

I personally would draw the line at reproducing records illegally and then selling them on for big bucks. putting such a booty on ebay as an auction (with them 3 tracks) is gonig to attract big bids which the seller knows.

personally I find that wrong.

selling originals is very different IMHO (nothing dodgy or illegal for a start)

Anthony stop pulling my leg.... that Tears 12" is a mash up, I have no issues selling mash ups (although I know we should class them as bootlegs)

I own loads of mash ups that I love, there not booties in this sense as someone has thoughtfully put tracks together to make them sound better...

bootying takes no skills...mash ups take a bit of thought and intervention

Yeah, illegally in most cases and with no royalties to the artist's (plural even worse) and not always resulting in making the tracks sound better.

Claptrap in my opinion.

Fair enough mate, and you’re prob taking too much of a bashing on this, but surely theres some hypocrisy in what you’re saying? (which is why I think you’ve had the responses you’ve had). Even there, you're conceding that mash-ups are booties, but cos it suits you, you dont want to class them as such. .

Right, enough from me on all this anyway.

I class the KOSA ep exactly the same as this one

Various - Untitled

both releases have an exclusive tune (PBT Just 4 U & the KOSA edit of Powerline) & both thought 'fuck it - I'll not waste the spare wax' & added two other tunes...

To be fair Eclipse & High Society are both rare as fuck so if anyone has the right to moan it's the owners of these tunes... I've not whinged about Eclipse... & no I haven't received a kick-back

that "tears" mash up is class and if you didn't own the mash up you would not be able to have it, same as "Lisa Generates power" or Nippers "thats what I call a bootleg".. nuff said

on a lighter note

If we bring some Zone bashing into this thread every argument will be complete lol

The definition of "Scum"

1.A filmy layer of extraneous or impure matter that forms on or rises to the surface of a liquid or body of water.
2.The refuse or dross of molten metals.
3.Refuse or worthless matter.
4.Slang. One, such as a person or an element of society, that is regarded as despicable or worthless.

I dont think this person fits into any of the above and its harsh to say so.

I own about 20 bootlegs do i deserve to be publicly flogged for it?
