ebay items with samples

had all my ebay sales listings ended by Ebay today because i included an Mp3 sample to about 70% of the items.

no warning just a suspended account and all items taken down.

anybody else had this happen or know of a poilcy that says you cant include a sample.

if thats the case then they are gonna lose out cause people wont buy without samples

there fees are gonna see a massive reduction and people wont bother going to the site

wondered where they had all gone, not heard owt like this before . . . i know some sellers use that auction player and have every tune with a sample.

Perhaps they want you to use that media player?

nitemare, the samples are/were what totally got the sale. Think the fact is that ebay arent arsed about the (relatively) low volume seller, theyre gearing everything up to favour the big power sellers now, from their point of view its where the profit is, so theyre taking the 'f*ck everyone else' kind of mentality it looks like.

More likely to be a copyright issue I would think? Ebay's a user driven site, alls they do is provide a selling platform. Shouldn't matter to them whether your selling 10, 100 or 10000 items a month, they still get their wedge.

I'm sure that some sellers in the past have had similar problems with selling promo's, BASSGENERATOR springs to mind. They had 17000 odd feedbacks & still had all their auctions pulled & a suspension.

It's a proper shitter though as you may as well talk to a brick wall to resolve it.

The most likely explanation is that you've been reported by a competitor - eBay don't police the site themselves, they rely on members to do it for them. Anything that gets reported generally gets removed. I've had it happen loads with cars I have sold. It's some jealous barsteward trying to reduce the competition, rather than someting you have done wrong I think.

The reason they will have given, at a guess, will be copyright infringement as someone else pointed out. You could perhaps link to a web page with the samples on? That's worked for me in the past, I used some free space (freewebtown I think it was) and hosted the samples there.

they've been really unfair they took down all 600 items i had for sale even though only say 300 had samples from a seperate web space.

apparently its the fact i had them linked to a seperate space which makes me think they want me to use their own ebay player !!! a cheap trick.

seem unfair then to take down the other 300 without samples the gits.

anway im suspended for 3 days and i must now go and stand in the corner because dickheads like me have lined ebays corporate pockets for the last 2 years and now im not worthy.

The decent thing to do would have been to ask you to remove the link to the offending samples what a bunch of twats

ok i so i was suspended for 4 days not the 3 days they said.

i had to take a 45 min tutorial.

and heres the sneaky bit, i had over 600 listings they cleared.

i cannot relist them because if i relisted them and they sold i would get my second listing fee back (if it sell within 30 days of relisting rule).

so the cheeeky F**kers have cleared all my items so i can only start a fresh which means i have to pay double the fees to get 600 items back up even though not all 600 items breached the rules.

therefore should i not be able to relist the items that didnt breach the rules under the 30 day relisting rule.

talk about a big scam i think watchdog may be getting an email

yep already set up a front page

www.internationaldiscs.com

but dont know how much it would cost to turn this into a shop as i dont have experience on website etc... i would have to pay someone to do it.

hosting would be easy cause i already have someone to do it.

i even have links to ebay - promoting their bloody site !!!

cheers
