In Milan this weekend..... from experience, does anyone know of any good record stores/markets etc? or are there any books/websites which list all the music/record shops in Milan?

i will be there aswell Danny i fly out Friday night.

went to the record fair last October and it was ok but as its a record fair you can imagine the records as slighlty overpriced.

if you got time to sift through 300 stalls you may find something of interest but after spending 4 hours there last year i eventually got board of seeing the usual crap coming up again and again only managed to bag a few records i was searching for.

but the good thing about the record fair is that as you walk into the entrance theres a table with flyers for other record fairs of which i went too and found better stuff outside of Milan as most people in Milan know the worth rather than lesser known places/areas which has better prices like Bergamo / Brescia etc...

if you want to be cheeky like i was last year i took address of all the distributors

Hitland, Venus, Self etc... in the Lombardoni area not too far from the record fair and i got in a taxi said take me here and there and i knocked on the door asking for vinyl and i got a few weird stares but eventually made friends with a guy a Venus Dist who was responsible for Palmares, True People (Q-words etc...) and i bought a few from him although they had mainly CD's now not vinyl and then he rang round various people for me and told me a few addresses of other distributors that had stock.

i even went to mr Lombardoni himself Discomagic but he didnt have much they had moved on to the sound at the time being stuff like JB sound

anyway a few little hinters for you

well i'm probs not goin to get overly much time to record hunt this weekend, but we'll see how we get on......

in Bergermo on sunday for the atlanta v genoa game and staying the night there too.... so will keep an eye out for some tune shops in that sorta area then.....

from experience records fairs are always pretty poo..... having said that, ive always found some top tunes when ive been over in italy... so fingers crossed!


if i come home with all 9 true people releases then i'll be just about satisfied
