Question for those with CDJ's

Do you put just one tune on a CD (or a couple of mixes of the same tune)?

Or 7-8 of the same genre?

Just wondered, am starting to rip stuff now, going to start burning this weekend.....

Cheers
Ed

I arrange my CDs as I would my record box with similar stuff batched together. It works better that way.

One tune per CD? Are you mad???? LOL

As many as you can fit on a CD-R the better I'd say, why waste space putting 1 track on a CD - whoever does that is an idiot

1 per cd

If the tune is good enough it deserves a cd of its own, just like a record

No point filling the cd as you look like an idiot just like Peter Hook or Dave Double Dex

Cram the feckin tunes on there mate - it's not vinyl, don't think of it as such - it avoids all those nasty storage probs associated with collecting the loveable old placcy, & no one gives a toss about whether you flick through 3 or 4 cd's or 30 or 40 so make ya life easy n just fill em up

I've fucked mine off anyway now and gone back to Final Scratch with wav files - no need to burn to CD/DVD anymore (saves time and money) and the control is vinyl, which is better anyhoo

It's vinyl only mate (mine is the older version 1.1 upgraded to 1.3 software)

For CD's though, you just rip from the CD the track(s) you want as .wav files, FS also plays mp3's but .wav files have always been more stable and also quicker for it to analyze when you are importing them to the playlist section.

Yeah sorry that's what I meant (but didn't express it well Long day...) Playing audio CDs thru yer puter but playing via FS vinyl. So you have to rip as wav 1st

Yep, rip as a .wav first then ya laffin

I thought about control over everything, whilst CDJ's appeared handy things to have, they take up room and are too costly for what use they get imo (thinking of us vinyl purists mainly there)

Selling the CDJ's was the best thing I've done I reckon as now it's simple - I've now got a setup of 3 turntables 2 mixers along with FS, which means you can manipulate much better and in a way that I've been used to for nearly 20 years now.

Cheers for all the replies.

I knew Pauly put one on each as I'd asked him, but I think I'd feel guilty wasting all the space. It would be easier to find shit though.

I know Danny R puts about 8 on per CD, makes it easier to find.

Problem is I have all different genres etc, so how to organize them is what is doing my swede in. Then you need two copies of each as well.

Been ripping stuff all day. Crossed my mind for the first time that I could flog all my vinyl and still have the music. Felt dirty and had a word with myself.
