| Factory Records Did anyone watch BBC4s documentary on Factory Records last friday? (repeated last night too). Was very interesting, specially as my knowledge of Factory was pretty minor. I now understand about all the catologue numbers (FAC 51 etc). They even gave the office selotape a FAC no. Apparently Tony Wilsons coffin has been given the last ever no. FAC 501. I also never knew that Blue Monday lost money on every 12" it sold! Whats a fare price for the die-cut 12" of Blue Monday? | I watched it too, really enjoyed it. Even seen a girl I know who got asked a question whilst queing up to get into the Hac. Not seen Mike Pickering for years, thought he'd aged a fair bit. Top programme, watch it if you can

| Peter Hook said he was working in the Hac for £10 a day shifting equipment around cos he was skint, whilst at the same time Joy Division/New Orders profits was funding the Nightclub to the tune of 600k! |

| Quote: New Order - Blue Monday. 12" single. 1983 - eBay 12'' Singles, Records, Music (end time 27-Sep-07 17:27:24 BST) There were actually two versions of the first pressing went out, one with a black inner jacket and one with a grey inner jacket, mine's a grey one bought on first day of release March 1983. ![]()

I think the 'losing money on every one' is a bit of a myth, after the first run, seem to remember Wilson or Sumner saying as much. ![]()

| Yes, I think you're right there. Later pressings when the record hit top 10 had a "standard" sleeve with the same overall design but without the die-cuts. A shadow black was used instead to imitate them. Later import copies also had folowed the same format.
