discogs mods ARSEHOLES

can one of the discogs mods off here whos actually got some common sense and knows about the said records in question PLEASE look into something that these foriegn mods cant seem to grasp,

im trying several times to update the sub sub space face below as its a remix 12"

as anyone with a pic cover will see its a remix 12" with remix diagonally all over it and its todd terry remixes in the lisings ffs, its defo not the original ,

and the cock who wont submit this 12" as a "remix" needs stringing up

he is a joker who says he cant ok it cause he cant read the notes on the actual record on discogs as the pic is no good enough , ffs , theres one getting submited on airplay recs says remix , and its got also got remix writen on the city beat company sleeve ffs some of these cocks need help im tellin yer its not rocket science is it ,

jesus christ some of the picky C**ts on there talk in riddles and just make life difficult at times , theres NO need ive said it before and ill say it again its a great site but ffs lets get the arsehole mods with crap attitude off thier power trips and be more helpfull or let people who actually KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT be mods instead..rant over

well said Ian ...tbh ive been put off in the past from submitting on OGGS due to some of the unhelpful mod comments, surely you would think that these people would want to expand the site and by doing that they have got to be helpful to new users that are trying to add records to the database.

respect again to mods like Biskit, I think if it was't for the help and comments that he and others like him have given I really would't had bothered again.

Got 4 pending at the mo, and pretty sure they should be excepted with no probs at all....but im not holding my breath!!

1st off cheers biskit common sense prevales at last , ive sorted that collapse now as youll see from the guys 2nd comment i only asked the same question that you did , but he just was talikng in riddles making it hard for BOTH of us for no reason which is a pain when you as a user you also take your own time to try and correct the incorrect info on discogs to make it a better place ,anyways thanks agian biskit that just needs accepting ,

ive give the sub sub - space face remix promo a miss as it looks complicated with the (promo) bit in brackets ,could get messy if i get it wrong so if someone else wants to av a go then good luck

To be fair it must be a nightmare being a mod sifting through all those submissions. Can't expect them to get it right every time as they're not robots.
While we're talking about discogs i have a question...

I'm submitting a 12" that lists the tracks on the A side as A1 and A2. Then for the B side tracks are listed AA3 and AA4. My question is should i be listing those tracks on the other side as B1 and B2? I tried looking at the submission guidlines but got confused.

unless you put a scan up, best to put the b-side thru as B1 and B2 or AA1 and AA2

and..

if you do put a scan up, best to make sure its clear n straight on the horizon, as some mods dont like bad scans, check ilovepiano's for good scans

One thing that gets my goat about Discogs though is adding comments. It now seems that if, for example, you know where the sample is from on a song you aren't allowed to add that as a comment. That didn't used to be the case, see Shooms' comment on here:

This type of thing now gets regected though - you now have to amend the release to add it in the notes. Which to be honest I can't be arsed doing as it takes far longer (and you don't get credit for it ). As such some releases aren't as comprehensive as they could be and probably never will be (which is a shame).

the history notes will show that you added the note about the sample. Im forever adding sample and cover notes as it helps people find the tune there after.

I didn't realise there was that facility - it doesn't appear to be available to the non-mod user.

I tell a lie it's on the right hand side. However, I personally think the "submitted by" should have the names of extra submitters as the history thing is hardly the most obvious.

i have been submitting quite a few recently (still have over 30 in my drafts) and have found Moderator SirTweak to be very helpfull!.. (dont want to sound like a a**e licker like!) altho he is from the UK
