This is just a post to say that the last event (inmyhouse) organized by cano, trace & woody we the DJ's have come in for some criticizm for not playing enought anthems on the night.
although the music policy is not to play so called anthems on the night (such as jinny & asha) to name a few we are also aware that our job is to please the paying public who take there time to come to such events.

i suggest that before future nights, anyone comming should post tunes they would like to hear then we can gauge what flavor the crowd wants on the night & act accordingly to try and please the people there

I say bollocks to 'em

Half the enjoyment for me is hearing the DJ's have free-reign over what they can play... & enjoying the cheeky unexpected curveballs that are dropped.

Stops it being formulaic & keeps it freshhhhhhhhh

Can I be honest? I only go to a nite where I know music what I like will be played...So you wont find me toing and froing at a Drum N Disgrace nite etc...You can kinda guess what kind of music will be played by the DJs on the night, so if Im going to an old skool nite, I would expect good old skool, whatever the tunes, known or unknown, I would expect the DJs to know this. What I wouldnt expect is for the DJ to carry all his/her vinyl to the said night just incase some ejit wants asha playing...I leave it up to the DJ to the job, when all said and done, its not the DJs fault that the person(s) complaining doesnt know the tune(s)

Music is a feeling not a label.

Wasnt bothered about those shitty anthems back then and even less now due them being so overplayed for the last 15 years.
The so called forgotten classics have always been the norm for me anyhow

picked up a copy of QTex - Natural High the other wk......total classic in its day.....never been played since that ive heard anyway....things like this should get an airing......there r farkin hundreds upon thousands of tunes to play but the same ones get played again and again......even voodoo ray n perfect motion butty if i heard them every wk when out n about id be none too happy reagrdless of how great i think the tune is.....thats what spoils tunes half the time but people are so narrow minded they play the same old stuff wk in wk out!

I've always said this...

I can't think of any other genre or musical style that has as much wealth of good tunes to pick from like Dance music has... there is SO much depth that people can dig from...throw in the occasional obvious crowd pleaser by all means but experimentation is the key...

The night was a bloody good laugh and this whole topic is blown out of all proportion as far as I'm concerned although your concern is nice Tony.

Let dj's play what they want to play!!!!!!!!!!!!
I trust them to entertain me!
So what, a few people wanted a couple more hands in the air tunes, there is no law against that.

I'm yet to meet someone who did not enjoy it, despite the odd comment about said anthems.

If you needed a buzz, you just had to look at Mr Ross's grining melon!

Big thanks to all DJ's and organisers.
