Hi Neil, thought it better to get set up properly before asking for as slot on the radio, but yeah i'd like to give it a go, even if it's just a 1 off

Isn't this a music production question though - seeing as it's techy and I want to also use it for recording sets and possible music production too, plus get advice on setting up and hardware/software related questions? I thought this section was for chatting about music

Anyway, could you find me a slot if I get set up?

You could quite happily run cubase and all that shizz on a midrange laptop go for summit around the 2.4ghz range and max out the ram to around 1gb or more dependant on the laptops limitations.
I would get an external usb soundcard (the creative live usb is a good cheap option) if you wish to mix MP3s as you will need to use the rear channels for the monitoring whilst the front channels play the audio.

Recommended software :
Cubase
Reason
Rebirth
Traktor/Ableton (for mixing)
Simplecast for streaming

So I need an external soundcard and a modern lappy with around 1Gb of ram?

Cheers turpieaj It's just for plugging in my turntable set up and maybe future music production - if I can get my head around it

I have a 900AMD PC that is my studio pc, does all I need and it's 512Mb with a 80gig drive.

You won't need a fast PC just to broadcast from...
