I think the bottom line is if it ain't broke, don't fix it

Saying that, I bought a dear Technics pair because they're very loud, very bass heavy, manouverable and built to last.

I've destroyed about 3 cheap pairs by standing on wires and them just falling apart and these have lasted me years, so I reckon they're worth it

you see how you get on in a nightclub with your cheap ones.
Tbh, theres a big difference between a 90 pound pair and the sennheiser hd ones for 125. I have a pair of sony ones that cost 80 pound and their not a patch on the sennheiser ones.
In your house you prolly wont notice that much of a difference but in a club theres no way a cheap pair would be up for the job

Before buying kit, you should read the reviews and ask others that are in your same situation what to go for. "A £90 pair" isnt saying much about your purchase really

What did you buy?

Yeah in a club you need decent head fods, cos you often have to wack the vol right up and you dont want distortion and you want it loud n clear

I've used cheap and expensive cans whilst playing out and imo you can only get away with cheap ones if you have monitor speakers and only have the headphones covering one ear whilst you cue up the next track.

If you use both earpieces to mix or don't have monitors then cheaper ones certainly don't cut the mustard.

What about some recommendations then guys and ones to avoid?

I can recommend the Technics DJ1200's if you want them VERY LOUD, bassy, indestructable and manouverable

sennheiser hd 25's are by far the best headphones. You have a look what they all wear on sky for the sporting events and its the sennheiser ones, its the same with dj's. i have a piar of sont ones that cost 80 pound and the sennheiser ones and theres no comparison between the 2
