try peak,google it.im computer illiterate so limited help from me on sortin u a copy but it works for me.

I've used Audacity for this. It's free and quite easy to edit mixes together if you get interrupted or something. Everything works with the released versions for a pre-intel processor. If you have an Intel Mac, there's only beta versions (make sure you don't use a G3/G4/G5 version) and they haven't got an MP3 export plugin yet.
