Cataloging

This is more mix-production than music-production but I think there's a fair bit of cross-over:

How do you lot caatlogu your mp3's - anyone found any useful software to assist?

How do you break it all up? I've just abandoned the 'club' filing system - where you file the tunes under the name of the club you used to hear em at, ie. park tunes, life tunes, angels tunes, etc - ran into problems though cos I soon realised I couldn;t rememberer what came from where for the life of me!

I tend to just use three folders:

OldSkool (87-late93)
House (1994-1995)
Progressive (1995-present)

All capital letters, like BASSHEADS - IS ANYBODY OUT THERE - ORIG WHITE.mp3

When my folders get a chore to wade though, I think Im just going to do folders like ABC, DEF, GHI, JKL, etc in each category.

Pretty much like I have my record racks actually, lol, now I type it out!.

Sirius.

PMSL! Unfortunately the more accurate version would be "Get a pair of decks and a small mortgage for vinyl!" and therein lies the problem!
