| No they don't, sadly. I wish they'd do away with those fucking awful Allen & Heath pieces of shite, you can't scratch with their crossfaders lol ![]() |

| My Technics probably need servicing, the pitch control is stiff and it seems harder to lock onto beats with mine than others i've used. The beats stray. If I were to replace them though i'd check other models out too. I don't have any loyalty to Technics and i'm dying to check out the Stantons ![]()

| Thanx for all the responses, I know the technics massive are out in force here but theres the things I need to take into consideration are.. 1. The amount of time actually spent on them will be few and far between. 2. I don't foresee myself as becoming a DJ - so it will be minimum bedroom use. 3. I can't justify spending £450 even on a second hand set of 1200/1210s - only a lottery win would. 4. Minimum patience - something tells me that cheaper ones are lighter and will fly better and futher out of a window in a fit of rage than the heavy solid performers lol. so I was thinking something along the lines of : http://www.htfr.com/more-info/MR74152 Andy |

| Before buying some decks mate, I recommend haing a try on some different makes then you will be able to see if the difference is worth it in terms of the Technics. For me it was but people are different. Lawler

| ... Turpster, you dont need to be paying £450 for 2nd hand pair of Technics. If ur in no rush just keep searching ebay for a few weeks, I picked up a 1210 for £100 buy-it-now (was well used but still plays a tune to same standard), and then a mint 1200 for £140 about a yr ago. Came to less than £280 with postage. Plus the technics are heavier so you wouldnt have to open the window when you fu<k up a mix lol ![]() |

| I might be selling my Gemini's shortly mate, still got the boxes, bought them off Grad on here. They are great for a beginner. Think I paid 200 for em, so you can have em for £120. Let us know if you are interested.

Worth shelling out the extra 50 quid on top of what you'd pay for that numark thing. And you ought to be able to pick up a basic 2 channel mixer for about 30 quid. |

| Id defo go for a pair of 2nd hand Techincs. Be a little patient and get em for a good price and unlike most other decks they dont really depreciate much should you need to re-sell

| Well it does all come down to taste at the end of the day but i do love my Techincs i feel theres no reason for me to go for these newer decks {to me} nothing can beat the Technics motor, the Solid Steel Plater, the arm the thick rubber etc. They are very reliable i can do my mixing on them and aggressive scratching or whatever on them because there made for that and last a very long time but have a go on other turntables it is your choice at the end of the day but what ever you chose i wish you luck.... ![]() |

| [quote=coggledots;550117]I've said it once (or twice!) & i'll say it again STANTON STR8-150's they the new technics i tell ya! £669 a pair! (£699 with numark mixer & phones off the same link!!) Dannster had a go on a pair at my wedding & he was well impressed, just ask him lol. If you can find a shop that has a demo set & have a go, you won't believe how good they are. I traded my Tech's in after 8 yrs for these, after a couple of goes on my mates, everyone was like 'wwwhhhooo bit of a risk innit?' But they are the dogs dangles IMHO. agreed, I've got a pair of these aswell and my experence is virtualy the same as coggledots ![]() |

| Decks Don't mean to offend anybody or sound a bit arsey.....BUT... have any of you who have replied with the recomendation of buying Stanton turntables or any other kind of turntables other than Technics owned them for over 6 years ??????? Thought not, I bought my Technics 1210's in 93 and have never...I repeat NEVER had one problem with them, and mine get hammered, I've taken them all over the north with me to different house parties and gigs, they've had drinks spilt on them, they've even been in the boot during a car crash and STILL not one problem ! My Technics 1210's are now 13 years old and are still as good as they were when i bought them....so, if you can say the same about Stanton turntables when they are 13 years old then maybe I would consider a pair..... ...but until then....Technics all the way baby. ![]() |
