In all honesty the club scene of 2000 (when I retired) was very, very far removed from the early 90's balearic ethos I came from of being able to play anything in a club.........yeah, rose tinted specs and all that, but dance music became boxed into certain styles and certain clubs. Trance clubs, house clubs, garage clubs, breakbeat clubs etc.

I became increasingly bored of the dance music scene around 1999 but managed to see in the millenium before hanging up the headphones and cubase for good!

Welcome to the board

Love to hear an old Balearic mix of yours if you`ve got any knocking around that you might want to share with us. What was your Favourite year in Ibiza?

Hello Chris! Welcome.
Had a couple of great nights at the Gardening club, and you used to come up regularly to Crunch in Birmingham as well, which was my favourite ever night.
Sorry to hear you've hund up your boots, can I be nosey and ask if you are still involved in music.
All the best
Ed

Hi mate,

Yeah crunch was good.....but the Engine House on a bank holiday Sunday was the best Birmingham bash for my money.

No, totally out of that scene now - I like to use the analogy of Gary Lineker.....when he retired he vowed never to play football again. Why go from Wembley Finals and World Cups to 5 a side football?

Having said that I do a little bit of Ebay wheeling and dealing - check out the link to my shop in my personal profile.

Fire in on Saturday - anyone with good ears is welcome. You're sure to have a good night - it's like a cauldron of insanity. The tunes you'll hear there are the tunes you used to hear out. And some that you should hear out now.

As I say - if you go on here - you're more than welcome to come on Satuday.
