I like the occasional acoustic style guitar - dont really know much about different terms, lol, cos I hated guitar muslic with a vengance pretty much all my life until about 5 years ago....

Anyone remember BT's track, called Blue Skies? There was a mix of that that broke down into a strumming guitar, and it still does it for me when its blended with such skill into that sort of progressive genre. I have quite a few now that have used guitars on the prog house scene, I think it suits it well.

Great knob off heavy guitars and blatent hooks in dance music, I cant say Im too keen on. I like the more ethereal and folky type chord things going on that space you out when thrown in the mix of electronic music.

Choooooon. I'll second and third that one.

I've also got 2 recommendations of my own:

Weekender - Sunday Session (beuatiful balearic guitar and one of my favourite tunes of all time: http://www.discogs.com/release/56623)

Chez Damier - Close (Derrick Carter remix) I think.
(I've got this one: http://www.discogs.com/release/112703 and it doesn't say it is him on the remix, however, it sounds like him and he did do this one:
http://www.discogs.com/release/20917)

I'll post a sample of the Chez Damier breakdown with the guitar riff in it shortly - i'm currently mp3'ing it. It absolutely rocks.

If theres one instrument I cannot stand its the guitar probably the reason why my hatred for oasis and all those other indie rock band outfits theres no place in a electronica tune for it either.

If it works in the tune, it works for me

D.B.M. - 'Real Dream' is one of my favourite tracks and the guitar gives it a lot of power

oh aye

Don't get me wrong... decent Spanish/Flamenco style in Balearic cuts - that's all good.

What I DETEST is power chords, metal/rock samples. And the prevalence in current 'house' music to throw em into the pot for the Ritzy crowd.

Nice one peeps for putting examples up on the thread - full credit ;o)
