I may as well throw my tuppence worth in: Lez Zeppelin by an absolute country mile. For those that haven't heard it, go and buy or download the triple album called "How The West Was Won" if you need convincing. It is a live album and they are basically better live than they are in the studio.

I love rock but not the 70's metal bands which have been mentioned
apart from the leg ends that are Motorhead

As for 'new' rock bands the Lostprophets new album is excellent and I love Queens of the stone age

I think the chilli peppers are totally overated

Twisted sister were quite amusing

These franz ferdindand and razorlight geeks piss me off too.......but i think thats just because every teenager or student who thinks they're slightly cool and bohemian will profess to liking them tons, 'and oh my god! arent kasabian just amazing!'

i have always been a rock/indie/alternative head, however i couldnt agree with you more about all this new commercial s**t, it makes me angry...the new indie pop scene is full of silly silly lyrics that all the 5th ave geeks and teenagers with issues listen to and think they have sooo much meaning, when actually nursery rhymes have more meaning!!! talentless bunch of......

Been listening to quite a bit of the stuff recently. But I'm never sure of the names of things...

One band that have popped up again and again are Tool. Their earlier stuff is a lot more rock, now theyre like Prog/alternative rock. I love the flowing smoothness of prog rock, it's ace. Really instills emotion in you. It's top!

And the Chilli's of course! Do a stage show to their "suck my kiss" ace!
