Vinyl Cleaning Liquid

Hello,

Quick questions for the vinyl junkes

I need to give some of my vinyl the once over after moving house, does anybody know the name of the liquid that you can buy from the chemists which cleans vinyl, Isopropyl is it, cant remember the bloody name of it

I think it comes in a v large bottle and is a hell of a lot cheaper than the stuff you can buy from the larger record stores.

Anyone know what Im going on about or am I talking out of my arse?

Cheers

Neil

Hmmmm, maybe I should stick to tried and tested, a bloke I used to know used to use it to clean his records and swore by it, then again I havent seen him in a few years.....

Elbow grease, a soft cloth, and a bit of breath + a strong arm!! Nothing gets it cleaner than your own 'Elbow grease'! Has always worked for me!!

You want 2 good quality *soft* cloths which dont fall apart or fray, yet aren't non absorbant and a bucket of warm soapy (fairy liquid) water to say like washing up type ratio. Good results and cheap as hell. Use the second cloth to properly dry it off.

It makes sense you see, because a lot of the crud in the grooves is either spillages (if you play out in a rough bar!), or grease off yer hands which is hardening up over time in the grooves and "Fairy cuts grease..etc", but who says its just for cups n plates .

Give one or two a try and see what u think before going and buying anything expensive or hazzardous to yourself or the environment.......

This public service announcement was braught to you by,

Sirius.

Catch yer laterz.

IPA mixed with equal volume of water with a drop or two of fairy liquid does it for me
