Hello from Brooklyn, New York

Hello all.....I just joined this forum although I know I've stumbled upon it a few times in the last few years while tracking to find track IDs. I've been going to parties/raves and DJing since 1997. I am originally from Maryland in the United States, right outside of Washington DC. I regularly went to the Buzz events in Washington DC, and have been heavily influenced by Scott Henry and Feelgood since they are locals and helped found the DC and Baltimore party/rave scene.

Scott Henry would regularly spin his favorite records in the summer which covered all time periods which is when I was regularly exposed to oldskool. By 2002 I was no longer excited by currently produced trance, house or breaks and started buying oldskool records on ebay. I now mostly just spin oldskool and have more a UK sound compared to DJs in the states. I've listened to tons of old UK sets and have a bunch of Dreamscape tapes as well. It took me a good hear to understand how to mix oldskool as compared to house and trance from the late ninties and early 2000's.

I now live in Brooklyn NY where there are a few DJs still spinning oldskool. Last Saturday DB & Jason Jinx spun a tag team set of oldskool and the Riff Raff Crew throws some oldskool only parties in the city as well.

Here is a link to an oldskool CD I made that I've been using for promotion. There is also a link to a recent epic trance set I recorded after hearing George Acosta spin epic trance circa 1999, but only the first hour of that is decent. I put a lot of time and effort into the oldskool CD. I greatly appreciate any reviews.

Just saying hello and looking forward to being an active member of this forum.

Piece,
David

Welcome to the OSA mate. It's a top site with top people. . .shame you live so far away as loads of us meet up on a regular basis!

NYC is tops went there this April .. . . caught the torrential weather of the Nord Easter. . . 7.8 inches of rain in one day. . . Still had a great time and will be going back.

Have a great Christmas.

Leave you with my fav picture of our holiday in NYC.

Cheers Chris.

Thanks for the warm welcome from everyone. I have a funny feeling a lot of the records I bought on ebay were from members of this forum even though I didn't know it.
