cricketing codgers

ernie, a 90yr old man is visiting his terminally ill old chum bob in hospital. the codger says to his sick mate "now then bob,you and me have been friends since i can remember and have shared the love of cricket all these years both playing and watching the beloved game. just promise me old pal, that when you get to heaven,you'll let me know if they are playing up there wont you".
bob replied,"of course i will old chum". within hours,bob pops his clogs and heads up to the pearly gates.
a couple of weeks pass and one night in bed,ernie hears his voice been called. he shoots bolt upright in bed and says,"bob is that you?"
a voice replies,"its me ernie,you told me tell you if they play cricket up here."
ernie says eagerly,"bob old pal,please tell me if its true!!"
bob then says,"i have some good news and bad news. the good news is that it is cricketing heaven and is glorious up here. the weather is allways sunny,the pitch is like lords,and don bradman and w.g. grace are playing!!
the bad news is that you're opening the batting tomorrow!!!"
