Any zip experts????????

I have found this massive thing I want to download (appz), it is zipped up in segments. Its is massive, and is gonna take ages to get all the bits. I have got the first 4 out of about 30 bits and its labelled say 'Part1.zip' then the next one has "application name.zip.001" then "application name.zip.002" etc.
These zip archives are not opening (even when I remove the .001 extension) ,even the 'part1.zip' says 'not a valid archive or 'spanned archive'.

I take it this is winzips way of splitting a large file up like winrar/winace does???. If so, do I need to download the whole batch of files for it to work, and if so, how do I unzip them all in a continuous stream???????. I didnt know winzip could do multiple files............I dont wanna spend all month dl/ing for nothing!.

Is there another winzip file handler program that I will need to unpack the whole thing??.

I hope someone knows what Im on about!!! .

i use winrar m8

seems to sort them out for you and you can add all extensions to make one file by choosing to add to archive.or the proggy your downloading might tie itself up with the last one.

i have done it for a 12 segment file but never a 30!!

must be a good file m8 sounds like unreal 2k3 to me

If there winzip spanned files then yes u need them all before u can extract them

Cheerz guys!!! . I shall continue and hope for the best........I aught to get broadband me thinks!!!!!!! - this 56k thing is well annoying me now!. BT may be getting itself another broadband customer in the near future................

Out of curiosity what format you lifting (console / PC) ?? Might be worth checking if anyone has got a 'spare' copy (original of course......)

Hehehe. Dont worry m8, 3 weeks downloading doesnt scare a hardened warez-a-holic like me!! . PC format btw, although for an avid appz hunter like myself its all about the 'thrill of the chase' !!!. Theres a sad sense of achievement when u complete a big dl!!!........
