Urgent Help Please!!!

I'm in the shit.

This morning my pc decided that it wasn't playing any more and failed to boot up. Got the Windows logo and then it goes black with just the mouse cursor. No drive activity or fuck all. Wouldn't boot even in safe mode.

So I plugged in a spare hard drive and did a new install of windows and got it up and running again. Plugged my old drive in and it's showing up fine and working properly.

Big problem is my USB hard drive. I've plugged it in and windows pops up saying found new device blah blah blah, and that it's working properly. BUT, when I go to view it from "my computer" it's actually showing up as TWO removable drives and I can't access it. Can somebody please help me out?

I've got work to do and I'm so fucking pissed off, stressed out and wound up, I'm coming close to topping myself.

Well bugger me sideways with a rusty pitchfork! Out of total desperation I tried booting again from my normal drive and after about 20 mins it's booted from the "last working settings" thingy.

Not a clue what's happened like, but after a few google searches it seems I'm not the only one to have had a black screen of death! I'm totally baffled though as I haven't installed anything, or updated anything or added any new hardware. Fucking Windows.... lol

Still doesn't make me want to switch to Apple though
