Made A Massive Boo Boo

Hello People,

I have a Technics 1210 II.

I do not know why I did this and no I wasn't pissed.

I wanted to change the speed of my turntables and instead of adjusting
the speed setting I changed the voltage from 240v to 120v and I forgot
to change it back before turning it on.

Well you guessed right the thing blew !!!!

I have changed the fuse in the plug but this has not worked.

Can anyone tell me what has gone wrong and whether it is an expensive mistake ???

Thanks

Scott

sounds nasty mate id guess that there's plenty of internal fusing and stuff to protect the components.. so you've prob blown them

try your local technics dealer, but i dont hold much hope as they couldnt get me a replacement circuit board for mine you may have to either leave them with them or pick up a 2nd hand deck for spares and make one good one from the two

good luck fella

Cheers

Woody,

Cheers for the reply and I don't hold out much hope.

Dropping it off with a electronics engineer tomorrow.

Cheers

Scott
