my brother has had a go of his mates decks and reckons he needs to buy some...he's been lookin' on the net at new ones but i was wondering would he be better gettin' some second hand 1's first(cos he will more than likely get bored of them after a few months)

any advice would be great cos he's a pain in the bum and will buy the first thing he see's

thanking u very muchly!!!

also is there anywere on the net, books, magazines that can give him any tips on how to do it...i know it's mainly practice but a few hints and tips would be good, as u can see i aint got the foggiest wot i'm talkin' about...ur probably thinkin' books, magazines...is she insane??(i am!!!!!!)

Hiya Glazzy

I'm not really the man to advise on the decks, but I've heard this place isn't bad for DJ equipment:

http://www.richersounds.com/

Not used them myself - just know a few folk who reckon they're not bad Seem to cater for all levels - right from beginner to someone with more money than sense

Send a message via MSN to Dj M Jaxx
Hi Glazzy

If he is serious about getting some decks m8, tell him to buy technics, even if he gets board with erm 2 years down the line, he can sell em and get the same price he paid for em ( They never lose thier value )

Also look at VAs link, richer sounds are wicked peep'ps

My suggestion is for you to buy DJ mangazine ( If you cant find it PM me your address, and I will mail you a copy ). Look for the best deal on a technics package I.E ( " decks, carts, slipmats and headphones ) look at paying no more than £699. You will find these sort of offers in the Free adds at the back of DJ mag

Take the magazine into Richer sounds, and ask em to knock £50 quid of the same offer ( They will do this, but you must take the Mag in as proof, and they will ring the number on the add to make sure it is a genuin offer )

You may have to pay a delivery charge of £10, but hey, you got yourself a setup for £649, cant say better than that

Hope this helps m8

M Jaxx

decks

hiya glazzy,

the best bet in my opinion would be:

technics 1200/1210 - new or second hand in dont matter cos they is hard as nails!!

get a good mixer (must be new) vestax r summet

most important of all is to get collecting an keep buying more vinyl, then he will never get board ov em, if yaz got the tunes youll never get im off the things!!!!1:
