Internet Explorer (All Fukkin Versions...)

Can anyone tell me a way to stop a new window from automatically taking the focus ???

Specificaly it's IE that's pissing me off but I'm guessing I gotta tweak a windows setting to stop it happening ???

I'll try to give you an example. Whilst you're reading this thread, right click on the 'User CP' button at the top and select 'Open Link In New Window'. As you'd expect, a new window has opened, but you've had to 'Alt' and 'Tab' to get back to this one, because the new window by default takes the focus.

I wanna open new windows in the background, please help !!!!!

Ta !!

to my knowldge m8, this is not possible. since you requsted he window it is therefore the "active" one and thus at the front.

If you find a way to counter it, good going, but I think that you will find it to be mpossible. Check the properties under

tools --> options --> advanced and if there is a way of doing it it will be in there

Good hunting

Cheer Beebock mate I didn't think it would be an easy one to resolve !!!

Can't find owt in the IE options, so I assume the only way (if it's possible at all) is gonna be a registry tweak.

Failing that, can anyone recommend another browser ????

mozilas a cool browser but a bit slower than ie.
It lets u open other windows in tabs on the same page rather than having multiple windows open and it lets u stop things like pages forcing open other windows (pop ups etc)

Cheers Jaz fella, I'll give it a go

Out of curiosity, does anyone know why when you kill an IE window with 'Task Manager' / 'End Task' every instance of IE is closed ???

Other 'normal' apps don't behave like this
