| Trying to convert my old Tapes to MP3 Hi ...i'm new to the site and i was wonderin if anyone can help me out in converting my old tapes to MP3....i can convert WAV files to MP3...but i cant seem to get my tapes to a WAV on my computer.....the sound is none existent....i don't have an external sound card ...just a microphone plug straight into my soundcard.....can anyone help me out please....BPS |

| Check this thread and the advice from sirius http://www.oldskoolanthemz.com/forum...ots-guide.html Since you only have onboard sound you will have to use the mic jack.Make sure the input on your recording software is set to record from the mic |

| There should be a loudspeaker icon at the bottom in your task bar, click on it to open up the soundcard mixer. You should see sommit like a mixer with sliders with a check box next to each one. You need to go into your recording section of the mixer and either adjust the slider of the mic up to 2/3rds of the way up OR tick the box next to it to enable. You should now be able to record oure WAV on to your hard drive and then convert it to mp3. Andy |
