Ah up wez! Can't beat DVDshrink IMHO it really compacts things! But it sounds to me like you might need an AVI to DVD converter? Most films you download are in AVI or summat similar? I've just downed 'wedding crasher' & am using this to convert it to DVD. If it don't do it for ya, they'll be something on mininova that will.......

So you've got a film that is split in half right? Two avi files that are about 700Mb each?

You can use a prog called DVD2One to join the files together to make one long one. I can't remember if it will join avi files, so you might need to convert it to DVD video first.

Any chance you can make your font a bit bigger too? LOL, coz it's well hard to read your posts!

That's because you can't actually shrink an Avi, rather you must re-encode it at a different sample/bit rate. Your best bet is TMPGEnc (http://www.tmpgenc.net/e_main.html) which will allow you to set the desired output size in MB's.

Piece of proverbual pi$$. So to speak.

Myk.

ah up mate ( got me tickets by the way )
am realy confused about this its doing my head in when i come to burn the films using nero express 2 se its saying their is not enuff space on the disc because they are 01.29 / 01.36 long and 700 / 711 mb video clip / mpeg type of file and opening with windows media player it says on the download that they are dvd ripps .
do i need to convert them before i burn them to disc
if their smaller films they burn strate away to the disc its when their longer when they need shrinking down or that meens useing two disc

What are you aiming to play them on once theyre burnt ? I.E does it play DivX etc.

Sounds to me like you are choosing the "video" option as your choice when using Nero. If you pick "Data CD" then you can burn them as they are and watch them (providing it accepts divx, mpeg etc) on your DVD Player.

Nero only say it won't fir because it is trying to convert them to VCD/SVCD format which as I said above is not neccesary.

So you can just use the "data CD" option and burn the file as is. You don't need a VCD.

If it won't play data only discs then try the program I put here. http://www.oldskoolanthemz.com/forum...d-avi-dvd.html
