How exact are we talkin' here? within a couple of millimeters of cylindricity? or just sommet approximately round?. If the latter.... Just guessin here, but if you fold a piece of paper over (into four leafs) into an exact(ish) square and manage to draw roughly one quarter of the circle correctly - cut it out whilst folded and open the paper up. Dunno if it will turn out good enough though. ***If you dont have a compass, tie a piece of string to your pencil and pin the string down in the center. Score it with a knife if you dont have scissors and push it out. Been watchin too much HomeFront and groundforce me thinks!... I dunno otherwise........you sure its not 12" Dia you want pint glass, plates etc heheh.See ya, sirius.

Cheers for the advice mate Unfortunatly I can't fold the paper cause it's gonna be printed and stuck on the centre of me record. What I've thought about doing is smashing a shite tune to bits to get the middle out. Then it would be perfect size to cut round (if I had summat sharp enough to cut the paper dead neat). What do ya think ??? Will I be able to get the middle out of a tune ?? Cheers !!!

What are you attempting? to replace the label on vinyl records with printed ones? or is this related to the scanning question earlier???. If youre goin to do an absolute shed load then ur gonna have to buy some decent compasses and scissors im afraid. Measure the radius/diameter of the record label across with a ruler and sert the compasses to it. Those compasses with a point on both ends would be good (especially with the sturdy wheel adjuster between the legs of the compass). I could send you an accurate picture image or something with an actual scale 1:1 circle representing the size - then you could print a load out and not bother compassing them all. But you would have to make sure the image is right at your end. You could probably do this yourself by trial and error for the size and print a load out. Now, the hole in the middle is going to be tricky. This is where the double pointed compass would come in.....you would 'score' scrape out the circle untill the paper wears away. It can work reasonably well. Or if youre really stuck and wanna get it only fairly neat you can repeatedly stick a drawing pin or something around the circle close together and then press the middle out. Not advised for loads though!!, but could be tricky with scissors. If youre gonna be doin an insane amount, Id ask Pianoman or a local record maker if you can scab some actual labels. These could be old scrap ones reversed around so they are white - better than the bin!. Run out of insane ideas for now, Good luck. sirius.

Just for the record, today Ive sorted this one. A mate from work has lent me a "device"..... It's like a compas but instead of a pencil it's got a craft knive attached. Cuts a perfect circle in paper - just the ticket !!!! I can now create perfect centre labels for the centre of me bootlegs and whites. Massive shout to Andy for the "device" and to the tune ID posse for naming all those booteg tracks !!!! And an even bigger shout to Sirius for giving this one 100% - cheers mate, it's much appreciated ![]()
