MP3 editing

Anybody on here know a very easy tool to edit the begining of mp3's so you can get rid of the long pause at the begining?
I've tried a few but they can be a pain in the arse to work out and when you save the file it compresses the file again so you loose the quality of the mp3.

Cheers

Taff...

I usually use Cool Edit Pro but when you save the format back to MP3 it asks you which bitrate you want to save it as again which will loose quality.
Whether its an old version of cool edit i'm using I don't know...
I've not tried soundforge before. Can it be done easily on there?

Sorted it. Found a great tool called Easy Audio Editor that works just like Cool Edit Pro but this one doesnt de-code the mp3 when you open them...

In wavelab, all you do is highlight the offending piece, press delete and save (pretty sure theres no resampling).
