Ripping From Mini Disk

I've just decided to dust down my headphones and come out of djing retirement.
I was wanting to knock a couple of mixes up, but I am not in the position to be able to have my pc in the same room as my decks.
My pc is downstairs and is wired to my amp and mini disk player through the aux on the amp and the sound card on the pc.
My decks are wired up to my hifi upstairs which also has a mini disk player on it, so basically I am wanting to know what software I need and what the best way of getting stuff that I've ripped from my md to my pc.

Thanks in advance

Cheers for that mate.

On just a quick read am i right in saying that I need my mini disk player wired to my sound card or can I leave it the way things are ? ie my soundcard wired directly to the aux on the back of my amp ?

Yeah, you'll need to plug the minidisc player into the input on your soundcard, and yeah, Cool Edit will do the job nicely.

So basically everytime I wanna rip something I'll have to disconnect my md from my amp, my amp from my pc and plug the cable from my soundcard into the out on my md player lol ?

Arghhhh what a pain the arse.

allright charlie!
i used to copy & burn all the cd's for pattie for his freeze nights!
he would drop off his md player, i have a creative live front bay drive so i could just run a wire (3mm jack to white/red rca) from the md out straight into the rca aux on the live drive - if you havn't got rca inputs you can run it straight into your soundcard in/mic (usually 3mm jack)

i used soundforge to record the md

saved then burnt onto cd for him

btw im gregg who knocks around with a certain parceline driver!!...oh dear indeed!!

Alright Gregg how you doing mate ?
Enjoy the old school do at the Basement on boxing night ?

I'm just gonna go out and buy another lead tomorrow mate, at least that way I dont have to disconnect from my amp, which where it's sitting would be an absolute pain in the arse lol.

How's Stu ? Haven't seen him to talk to for a while, always see him flying about in the van but never to chat too ?
