| Windows not responding problem I bet the answer to this is more ram, but heres the lowdown I have about 10k of mp3s in a folder, and everytime I open it to browse it really slows down to a point if i scroll up and down fast you get the old (not responding) message. Now im running a p4 3ghz (800fsb) with 512mb of ddr400 on a 865pe chipset, so I would have thought that would be plenty. Would adding more ram sort this out or can i get away with just making a few tweaks to windows xp? PS apart from opening that folder the PC whizzes along nicely |

| Id check event viewer to see if you have got some screwed blocks on your HD mate Or failing that get a HD diagnostic tool from the makers website |

| i would be suprised if that folder was the root of it, operating systems are built for handling lots of files, try checking what size the partion is with the files on. |

| 8000 loose files in one folder ?? do you let windows display file length size date modified etc etc etc best option is to break em down into seperate folders of abuot 1000
