look for "sygate personal firewall".

Free to home users and works a dream.

also theres Zone Alarm, my 2nd fave. Theres a free version too.

older versions of Kerio are recomended, if you do look into this then try and avoid the new version due to bugs

Don't bother with a personal software firewall, they are a waste of time and will just sow ur system down. Most of the things they detect is just normal internet traffic. The best bet is to buy an all in one router / modem / firewall / switch. They are only cheap now, pick one up for £40 or so depending on whether your on DSL or ADSL.

BlackburnRaver speaks the truth. I may be a bit OTT with my router's firewall and xp's at the same time but no bugger's got through!
