another possible HD, help

hi
this is a picture of the computer i have

its a packard bell with 256mb of ram (celeron(R) 2.60ghz

and recently been offered a pc for £30 quid, its a IBM dinosaur, ;-) pictured below

question is, do you know if its possible or even worth to run them together, like the HD of the IBM and the packard bell as the main computer.
would this increase the ram or memory of the pb?

imput much appreciated

Best way to increse the memory of your packard bell is to buy some an crack it open an stick it in.

Linking up 2 pc's won't increase memory on either one, all it does is enables you to share files between the two. In theory it does increase your HD space in a way as you can use the other PC's HD space as well, but it would be a lot easier just to buy a new HD and put that in your PB while you was putting the memory in.

Also if that IBM is as old as it looks the HD and amount of ram memory will both be shit small anyway and not worth bothering with.

Memory an HD's are both cheap as chips now if ya shop about.

Only use I could think for the IBM is probably running a linux firewall and using the HP to connect to the internet proxy via the IBM.

if your buying that old thing for 30 quid then the person flogging it will be rubbing their hands together

itll cost them more than that to dispose of it
