| ok my take on this 1. Have you gone into the BIOS to check that nothing to do with the IDE controllers has been configured out by mistake - if unsure just use the option to return the BIOS to the factory settings. 2. With everything connected are all components on IDE channels being shown in the Power On Self Test screen at the single beep code? (any more than a single beep could mean componant failure, or not properly inserted) 3. Have you got your SATA drivers on floppy motherboard mfctrs always supply them on CD, you need to put them onto floppy for stage 4 below 4. Raid can only be set up if you press F6 at the right time during the windows installation - when it askes for something like "press f6 if you wish to install 3rd party raid/scsi drivers etc" - once pressed later on during installation, you will be prompted to insert the drivers from the floppy disk. Hope this is of some help, but if i can have a little think of any other routes to try will post them up later |

| sussed it cheers though fella ![]() I had to install some raid drivers from the boot CD and copy them to a floppy and F6 them in order for the intel chip to work, then #I could set my CD as master and HDD as slave and boot up and install windows im totally fucked off now though trying to install SP2 its just frozen once whilst I tried to install it and its getting late and I want to install battlefiled 2 and play it with my new PCI Card so looks like im not going on line tonight. |

| Im just glad one of my options were right LOL. I hope you havent gone out your way to upgrade just for a PCI express graphics card - AGP was tested against PCI X in micromart and all that was gained in performance was very minute about a 1 frame rate gain against AGP on most popular games. As for service pack 2, did you install any drivers prior to SP2 - sometimes a conflict can happen (had graphics drivers completely corrupted before). I always now install in this order XP,SP2,Chipset drivers, Graphics, Audio then the rest (never had any problems since doing so Quote:
